Website operator: [Insert full legal name, registration number, and registered address]

Legal recipient of donations: [Insert full legal name and registration details, if different from the website operator]

In these Terms, “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the responsible legal entity identified above.

1. Acceptance of These Terms

Please read these Terms before using our websites or making a donation. By using our services, you agree to these Terms to the extent permitted by applicable law. If you do not agree, please discontinue your use of the services.

Additional conditions displayed for a particular campaign or service also apply to that campaign or service.

2. About Our Services

IAC supports humanitarian relief, community development, and assistance for vulnerable individuals and families. Our websites provide information about our work and opportunities to support campaigns, projects, and sponsorship programmes.

Project descriptions explain the intended purpose of each appeal. Delivery methods, locations, and timelines may be affected by access restrictions, security conditions, available resources, and other circumstances.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree to use our websites lawfully and respectfully. You must not:

  • Provide false information or impersonate another person.

  • Use a payment method without the account holder’s permission.

  • Attempt to access accounts, systems, or information without authorisation.

  • Introduce malicious software or interfere with website operations.

  • Misuse information or images relating to beneficiaries.

  • Use our name or branding to collect donations without written permission.

We may restrict access where reasonably necessary to address misuse, fraud, or security risks.

4. Accounts and Information

Where account registration is available, you must provide accurate information and keep your login credentials confidential.

Please notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access to your account. You must have the legal capacity and authority required to use our services and authorise payments.

5. Donations and Payments

Before confirming a donation, please review the selected campaign, amount, currency, and payment frequency.

By submitting a payment, you authorise the donation shown at checkout and confirm that you are entitled to use the selected payment method.

Payments are subject to authorisation by the relevant bank or payment provider. A submitted payment may be declined, delayed, or require additional verification.

Your bank or payment provider may apply currency conversion charges or other fees under its own terms.

Donations are voluntary contributions and do not purchase goods or services unless expressly stated. A donation confirmation does not, by itself, establish eligibility for a tax deduction.

6. Recurring Donations

If you select a recurring donation, you authorise repeated payments for the amount, currency, and frequency confirmed at checkout. Payments continue until you cancel or the agreed donation period ends.

You may request cancellation of future payments by contacting info@iac.mv. Where cancellation tools are available through your account or payment provider, you may also use those tools.

Please submit cancellation requests before the next scheduled payment. We will confirm when cancellation takes effect. A payment already being processed may require separate review under the refund provisions below.

Cancelling a recurring donation does not automatically refund previous payments. Changes to these Terms do not themselves authorise an increase in your recurring donation.

7. Use of Donations

We will use donations in accordance with the purpose communicated when the donation is made and any restrictions we accept.

General donations support our humanitarian work and the activities needed to deliver it.

If a designated project becomes fully funded, cannot proceed, or materially changes, any alternative use of restricted funds will follow the terms disclosed for that appeal and applicable law. Where donor consent is required, we will seek it before reallocating funds.

8. Refunds and Payment Errors

If you believe a donation was duplicated, entered incorrectly, or made without authorisation, please contact info@iac.mv promptly.

Include your name, donation date, amount, and transaction reference. Do not send full card details, passwords, or security codes.

Refund requests will be assessed according to the circumstances, any applicable campaign conditions, and legal requirements. Approved refunds will normally be returned through the original payment method, subject to payment provider requirements.

Nothing in these Terms limits any refund or payment dispute rights available under applicable law.

9. Sponsorships and Beneficiary Protection

Sponsorship contributions support the programme described on the relevant campaign page. The form and timing of assistance may vary according to beneficiary needs and conditions on the ground.

Sponsorship does not create guardianship, ownership, or an automatic right to contact a beneficiary directly.

Any beneficiary information shared with you must be treated respectfully and confidentially. Please obtain our permission before publishing identifiable beneficiary information, photographs, or reports.

10. Privacy

Please review the Privacy Policy provided on the relevant website for information about how personal data is collected, used, and protected.

Payment providers may also process information under their own privacy notices and terms.

11. Website Content and External Services

Website content, including text, photographs, videos, and logos, belongs to us or the relevant rights holders.

You may share links to public pages. Reusing protected content, suggesting our endorsement, or using our branding for fundraising requires permission unless otherwise permitted by law.

Our websites may link to external websites or services. Those services operate under their own terms, and we do not control their content or availability.

12. Availability and Responsibility

We take reasonable care to maintain accurate information and functioning services, but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access or that all content will always be complete and current.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for losses arising from circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

Nothing in these Terms excludes responsibility that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricts your mandatory legal rights.
